Mark Miloscia to Report Victory Over Heroin Injection Sites In King County
Federal Way, WA.– Washington State Senator Mark Miloscia (R), a longtime opponent to supervised heroin injection sites in King County announces victory over the possibility of the first site in the United States being opened in Washington state after Deputy Attorney General issues statement saying the federal government is prepared “to meet the opening of any injection site with swift and aggressive action.”
“Nearly a year and a half after I initially sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions asking for federal intervention stopping these illegal heroin injection sites proposed by Seattle officials, I welcome Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s clear Proclamation that any attempt to build such sites will be met with swift government action to include punishments ‘up to 20 years in prison, hefty fines and forfeiture of the property used in the criminal activity’ and ‘civil injunctions against violators.’ Next senate session, I will be introducing legislation mirroring these consequences into state law.”
Mark Miloscia is the current State Senator for the 30thLegislative District. Miloscia will be available for media interviews. Please contact Assistant Campaign Manager Logan Beck at (253) 414-2736 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an interview.
